Thank you for your support of our 2nd Annual “Run for Great Schools”!

Our 5K Run/Walk will begin promptly at 8:30 AM behind The Oaks Shopping Center, crossing over Interstate 280 on the Don Burnett Bridge and ending in Memorial Park . . . for awards, raffle prizes, and more fun!

Our Kids Fun Run is an un-timed event that is great for children 6 years of age and under. Located in Memorial Park, the Kids Fun Run begins at 9:30 AM. All Fun Run participants will receive a special medal for their participation.

Registration Details

How do I register?

Register online.  Registration fees are $35 for the 5K Run and $15 for the Kids Fun Run until August 15th.  After that date, registration fees are $45 for the 5K Run and $25 for the Kids Fun Run.
• Online registration closes on Thursday, August 25th, at 12 midnight.
• Register by August 15th to be sure that you get a “Run for Great Schools” T-shirt!

Where can I pick up my Bib Packet?

Are there refunds?

No refunds are available for non-participation.

Who benefits from the net proceeds of the race?

The 19,000+ students of the Cupertino Union School District (CUSD)! For over 30 years CEEF has provided over $17 million in funding support for art, music, science, and technology programs in all 25 elementary and middle schools of CUSD.  Your participation and contribution is making a difference in the community. Race Details

Where does the race start?

• The “Run for Great Schools” 5K Run Start Line is located behind The Oaks, 10100 Mary Avenue, Cupertino, CA 95014.
• The Kids Fun Run is in Memorial Park, near the 5K Run Finish Line.
• If you are walking the course, please stay to the right to allow for runners to safely pass.
• Traffic may be present on all streets, so please be mindful of your surroundings and follow all directions of the 5K personnel.

Where can I park?

• De Anza College, Lot A ($3): 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd., Cupertino, CA 95014 Any vehicle without a permit parked at De Anza College will be issued a parking citation.

• Memorial Park/Quinlan Center (limited): 10185 N Stelling Rd, Cupertino, CA 95014
• Senior Center Lot (Accessible Parking Only): 21251 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014
• Some additional parking may be found on the street near the Start Line.

Will the 5K race be timed?

• Yes. Silicon Valley Endurance will time the race. Time chips are on each bib.
• Please keep the chip on your bib until after the race.
• You can either choose to keep or discard your bib after awards are presented.

Will there be awards?

Yes. Following the Kids Fun Run, awards for the 5K will be announced by category in Memorial Park. Awards will be distributed to the top three finishers in each race division:
Top 3 Males
Top 3 Females
Male: Ages 6 and below, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-2930-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-79, 80+
Female: Ages 6 and below, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-2930-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-79, 80+

Can parents run with their children in the Fun Run?

• Parents are encouraged to cheer on their runner(s) from the sidelines.
• Parents also are allowed to run with younger participants who may need extra encouragement.

How does the raffle work?

• All registrations are automatically entered into a raffle for fun prizes. You must be present to win.

What if it rains?

The “Run for Great Schools” will take place, rain or shine. Refunds will not be given if it rains on race day.

Safety/Medical

Are strollers allowed?

Yes. Feel free to bring the little ones and push them! Strollers will begin at the back. Please let faster runners/walkers pass you on the course.

Can my dog run with me?

For safety reasons, we do not allow dogs on the course.

Can I ride my bike or use a scooter or skateboard?

For safety reasons, these items are not allowed on the course.

Where can I find restrooms?

Porta-potties will be available in the Senior Center Lot (near the Finish Line) and at the far end of Memorial Park.

Will medical assistance be available?

Medical help will be available at the first aid station located at end of the course in Memorial Park.

Will there be drinking water on the course?

Yes. A water station will be located near the corner of Homestead Road and Mary Avenue.  Participants will also have access to water at the finish line.
