1984

  • CEEF is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation
  • CEEF bid on and won the option to develop a CUSD surplus school site

1985 – 1990

  • CEEF partners with a land developer to develop the surplus school site
  • The development project was completed in 1990 and the property was sold; CEEF receives $3.5 million from the proceeds of the sale and establishes an endowment fund for the perpetual benefit of CUSD

1991 – 1993

  • CEEF commits to distributing $1 million to schools over the next 3 years as a goodwill gesture to community

1994 – 1999

  • CEEF continues to make contributions from endowment in the range of $200,000-$450,000 to CUSD and school sites.
  • Between 1990-1999, CEEF grants $5.5 million to CUSD and school sites

2000 – 2004

  • CEEF launches $6 million Endowment Campaign for Enhanced Cultural Arts and Integrated Information Literacy Program ($4 million raised from community contributions):
    1. CEEF Contribution from existing endowment –  $2,000,000
    2. Visual and Performing Arts Matching Grants – $750,000
    3. Classroom Music Education – $1,250,000
    4. Information Literacy Program – $2,000,000

2005 – 2009

  • CEEF contributes more than $3 million to CUSD and school site matching grants

2010

  • CEEF partners with CUSD, parents and the community on the ‘Their Future is Now’ Campaign, which raises $2.5 million to help the District retain 115 K-8 teachers, prevent K-8 teacher reshuffling, and maintain 20:1 class size ratio in grades 1-3

2011 – 2018

  • CEEF continues to grant funds to support teachers and students in CUSD.
  • In 2015, CEEF holds first 5K Run for Great Schools and Fun Run to bring the CUSD community and the community-at-large together to celebrate our excellent schools.

2019

  • CEEF, in partnership with parent leaders from all 25 schools and CUSD, launched CUSD25 to build community among all 25 schools and raise funds to support all 17,000+ CUSD students. Campaign raised more than $180,000 to support Visual and Performing Arts Education for all students in CUSD.
